FAQs

Is Hypnosis/ Hypnotherapy the same as sleep?

No, it’s not the same, it’s an altered state of mind similar to daydreaming, or becoming so absorbed in an activity that you lose all track of time. During these times you are not asleep but in a calm and very relaxed state of mind.

Will I lose control during Hypnosis?

This is the probably the biggest myth people have about hypnosis. The state of deep mental relaxation is very pleasant and your mind will remain very clear throughout, however deeply you go. There is no question of being controlled or manipulated against your will; you remain in control at all times. Hypnosis is obtained through focused concentration, for example on the therapist’s voice. Once the deep state of hypnotic relaxation has been reached, the subconscious mind is able to absorb information, suggestion and other content which brings about the desired positive changes.

How long will a session last?

Usually a session is anywhere between an hour to an hour and a half, we do not charge by the hour if a session takes one hour/hour and a half we charge the same fee. The Free initial consultation will allow the therapist to prepare in advance the most suitable therapy to resolve the problem.

Will I remember anything afterwards?

Yes in most cases people do remember what has been said, however, some people recall very little, this does not have any effect on the success of the therapy. Even people who have used hypnosis to undergo operations having felt no pain will often recall the experience afterwards.

Does Hypnosis or Hypnotherapy involve drugs?

None whatsoever. The hypnotherapist merely uses their voice and appropriate support therapies to create positive changes.

Is Hypnosis safe?

Hypnosis is completely safe. You are aware and in control at every moment and you can terminate the session at any time. Hypnosis is not sleep, nor can you get ‘stuck’ in a state of Hypnosis. You cannot be made to do anything against your will! Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing and enjoyable experience.

What happens at a session?

We will discuss the problem or issue you would like to change. All sessions are completely private and confidential. We are registered by the General Hypnotherapy Register and abide by their rules and code of ethics. Once we have all the relevant information we will apply the most appropriate therapies which will usually include Hypnotherapy, Thought Field Therapy (TFT) or Emotional Freedom Technique both of these techniques work extremely well alongside Hypnotherapy. Depending on the issue we may ask you to do some techniques at home. All of this is done in a very calm and relaxed manner to ensure that you are feeling comfortable and ready to change your life for the better.

Our aim is to resolve your problem as quickly as possible. Our success rate is such that many of our clients are from recommendations from previous clients.
